Discover the MS Nurse PRO courses

MS Nurse PRO provides seven comprehensive, interactive courses, with each course focusing on a different aspect of MS and nursing care. The first five courses make up our core Foundation Programme.

For each completed course, members are awarded a badge that is displayed in their profile. A certificate of completion is also available to download following successful completion of each individual course. Upon succesful completion of all 5 courses within the foundation programme, members will be rewarded with a certificate of accreditation and up to 30 hours worth of continuing professional development credits.

Course 1: Understanding MS: Course

This course will provide the essential concepts and information required to answer patients’ questions about what causes their disease and how the disease will affect their future life.

Course 2: Clinical Presentation

Tip: Drum

This course reviews the different types of MS and their clinical features, including atypical presentations of the condition. Common symptoms are discussed and defined, along with the prognosis of people with MS.

Course 3: Diagnosis and Assessment

Tip: Drum

This course explains the diagnostic criteria for MS along with the associated diagnostic tools, their results and consequences in a manner that a nurse can easily understand and interpret, and then relay to a person who has MS.

Course 5: Care and Support

Tip: Drum

This course examines the relationship of the person with MS and the nurse. Participants learn about the psychological and social impact MS can have on individuals and their families. This includes mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

Course 6: Rehabilitation in MS

This course highlights the importance and relevance of rehabilitation for the quality of life of people living with MS.

Course 7: Research in MS Nursing Practice

This course provides nurses with a clear understanding of the value of research and why it is important in MS nursing.

Course 4: Treating MS (NEW)

Tip: Drum

Course 4 reviews the pharmacologic management of MS. It explores current disease modifying therapies (DMTs) and associated nursing issues. Symptom management is discussed with an emphasis on pharmacologic management.

Digital Skill in Clinical Neuroscience Nursing Practice

Programmes

Learn about the MS Nurse PRO programmes

MS Nurse PRO offers three programmes:

Foundation Programme: Courses 1 to 5 make up our core MS Nurse PRO Foundation Programme. It is an essential step to becoming a widely recognised MS nurse. Our Foundation Programme has been accredited by multiple national and international institutions including the ICN and RCN (see our accreditation page for more information). After members successfully complete all of the courses within the Foundation Programme, which includes achieving a pass mark of at least 75% in each course exam, a certificate of accreditation can be downloaded and printed.

Advanced programme on Rehabilitation in MS: Our advanced programme currently includes two standalone courses focused on Rehabilitation in MS (Course 6) and Research and the MS Nurse (Course 7). Upon successful completion of each individual course, members will receive a badge that is displayed in their profile, along with a certificate of completion that can be downloaded and printed.

Advanced programme on Research and the MS Nurse: Our advanced programme currently includes two standalone courses focused on Rehabilitation in MS (Course 6) and Research and the MS Nurse (Course 7). Upon successful completion of each individual course, members will receive a badge that is displayed in their profile, along with a certificate of completion that can be downloaded and printed.

This course provides nurses with a clear understanding of the value of research and why it is important in MS nursing. The course is currently only available in English. Translations are foreseen in the future.

The advanced programme focuses entirely on Multiple Sclerosis and Rehabilitation in MS. Target audience are rehabilitation practitioners. Upon successful completion, members receive a certificate. Available in English and German.
