Our Courses and other relevant content on MS nursing


MS Nurse PRO offers seven comprehensive, e-learning Courses, with each Course focusing on a different aspect of MS and nursing care.

The first five Courses make up our core Foundation Programme.

​​​​​​​For each completed Course, learners are awarded a badge that is displayed in your profile. A certificate of completion is also available to download following successful completion of each individual Course from the Certificates section in My Learning.

Upon succesful completion of all 5 courses within the Foundation Programme (Course 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), learners are rewarded with a certificate of accreditation and up to 30 hours worth of continuing professional development credits. Read here all about our accreditations

Apart from our comprehensive Courses, we also offer other relevant e-learning content. 

Course 1: Understanding Multiple Sclerosis (2024-)
This course provides the essential concepts and information required to answer patients’ questions about what causes their Multiple Sclerosis and how the disease will affect their future life.
Course 2: Clinical Presentation of Multiple Sclerosis (2024- )
This course reviews the different types of MS and their clinical features, including atypical presentation of the condition. Common symptoms will be discussed and defined, along with the prognosis of people with MS.
Course 3: Diagnosis and Assessment (2012-)
This course explains the diagnostic criteria for MS along with the associated diagnostic tools, their results and consequences in a manner that a nurse can easily understand and interpret, and then relay to a person who has MS.
Course 4: Treating Multiple Sclerosis (2023- )
Course 4 reviews the pharmacologic management of MS. It explores current disease modifying therapies (DMTs) and associated nursing issues. Symptom management is discussed with an emphasis on pharmacologic management.
Course 5: Care and Support (2012-)
This course examines the relationship of the person with MS and the nurse. Participants learn about the psychological and social impact MS can have on individuals and their families. This includes mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
Course 6: Rehabilitation in MS (2018-)
This course highlights the importance and relevance of rehabilitation for the quality of life of people living with MS.
Course 7: Research in MS Nursing Practice (2022-)
This course provides nurses with a clear understanding of the value of research and why it is important in MS nursing.
Short course: Digital Skills in Clinical Neuroscience Nursing Practice
This course focus on digital skills empowerment to support neuroscience nurses involved in the management of people with MS

The MS Nurse PRO Course Programmes

 Foundation Programme MS Nursing: Course 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5


The programme is an essential step to becoming a widely recognised MS nurse.

The following courses make up our core MS Nurse PRO Foundation Programme:

  • Course 1: Understanding Multiple Sclerosis
  • Course 2: Clinicl Presentation of Multiple Sclerosis
  • Course 3: Diagnosis and Assessment
  • Course 4: Treating of Multiple Sclerosis
  • Course 5: Care and Support of PwMS


Our Foundation Programme has been accredited by multiple national and international institutions including the ICN and RCN (see our accreditation page for more information).

After you successfully complete all of the courses within the Foundation Programme, which includes achieving a pass mark of at least 75% in each course exam, a certificate of accreditation can be downloaded and printed from the Certificates section in My Learning.

Rehabilitation in MS: Course 1, 2, and 6


Rehabilitation is an essential component that should be factored into the comprehensive care of all people with MS.

This Foundation Programme:

  • Covers the basics of what multiple sclerosis is (= Course 1: Understanding MS);
  • Explains its clinical presentation (= Course 2: Clinical Presentation of MS); and
  • Covers all aspects of MS rehabilitation, including the different types and methods of rehabilitation, the importance of goal setting, and the various ways that rehabilitation can help the person with MS function optimally at home and at work (= Course 6: Rehabilitation in MS).


This activity has been developed to meet the educational needs of rehabilitation professionals who have an interest in optimising the management of people with MS. It may also be of interest to other healthcare professionals who are involved in rehabilitative strategies in MS.

This Foundation Programme on Rehabilitation in MS has not been accredited

After you successfully complete each courses within this Foundation Programme on Rehabilitation in MS, which includes achieving a pass mark of at least 75% in each course exam, a certificate of completion of each course can be downloaded and printed from the Certificates section in My Learning.

Foundation Programme MS Nursing: Course 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5
Five comprehensive engaging e-learning Courses to support the evolving role of European nurses caring for people with multiple sclerosis. Each course focuses on a different aspect of MS and together they form MS Nurse PRO's Foundation Programme.
Rehabilitation in MS: Course 1, 2, and 6
The Rehabilitation in MS programme focuses entirely on Multiple Sclerosis and Rehabilitation in MS for rehabilitation practitioners. Upon successful completion you receive a certificate.
