A type of lymphocyte (white blood cell) manufactured in the bone marrow that makes antibodies; part of the adaptive immune response, they migrate to the spleen, lymph nodes and mucosal-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) where they are responsible for producing and secreting antibodies; can differentiate into plasma B cells and memory B cells.
