The MS Nurse PRO community recently gathered for their highly anticipated Annual Gathering on May 2nd, 2023 with the theme "Supporting Patients to Overcome Working Challenges and Succeed," this year's event focused on the crucial role of nurses in assisting patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) to navigate the complexities of employment and achieve their professional goals. The event was held online via Zoom, allowing more than 30 nurses from around Europe to come together for an exciting exchange of best practices.
A highlight of the event was the presence of the esteemed keynote speaker, Inger Grethe Løyning. Inger is a clinical occupational therapist at MS-Senteret Hakadal in Norway, where she has dedicated her expertise to helping individuals with MS thrive in their daily lives. With over two decades of experience, Inger is a renowned expert in rehabilitation for people living with MS. She holds the prestigious position of being the elected chair of the Special Interest Group (SIG) Occupation in Rehabilitation in MS (RIMS), highlighting her significant contributions to the field.
Inger's keynote speech revolved around strategies to support patients in overcoming working challenges and achieving success, with a particular emphasis on the role of occupational therapy in MS management. Her deep understanding of work participation, cognition, and fatigue in MS made her insights invaluable to all attendees.
