Following the success of the 2021 Virtual NursED Conference, the on-demand content of the whole conference is now available on the MS acadeMe site! The event was held in collaboration with the International Organization of MS Nurses (IOMSN), on 23 October 2021, titled Staying healthy with MS: optimising disease management for nurses in challenging times.
Prof Gavin Giovannoni chaired the discussion-led MS NursED educational virtual forum, that took place on 23 October, where he was joined by MS nurses, neurologists, and PwMS as they explored the challenges facing MS management as a result of COVID-19. The event is endorsed by the International Organization of MS Nurses (IOMSN) plus CME accredited by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
Looking ahead at the fresh challenges facing MS nurses, the expert discussions provided a practical analysis of the current MS management situation, focussing on the impact that COVID-19 has had on patients and resources, as well as providing the latest advice on optimal treatment, managing vaccinations, and patient welfare during the ongoing pandemic. The MS NursED faculty also discussed the very topical issue of mental health and how best to help patients following the rapid increase in mental health case numbers in the MS community.
