Despite the availability of effective vaccines, many older adults still suffer from influenza, pertussis, herpes zoster, pneumonia and other preventable diseases, with a vast number of deaths from vaccine-preventable diseases.
To help save these lives, during the AAFP Family Medicine Experience conference in 2023, leading Family Medicine specialists Jeremy Szeto and Kristen Robillard discussed how they approach and manage immunisations in their practices, including how to optimise adult vaccinations, and engaging ways to improve doctor-patient communication and education.
